Amanda has been a practicing RMT since November 2018. She devoted her practice to infant/child (paediatrics - birth to 18 years old) and pregnancy/post-partum (perinatal) massage in December 2020. With the closure of Mothering Touch Centre coming at the beginning of 2021, Amanda has decided to move her practice back to Esquimalt, where she lives with her husband and two children.
Amanda is from Fredericton, New Brunswick and holds a Bachelor of Science from UNB. Additionally, Amanda served in the Royal Canadian Navy for almost 9 years as an officer. She graduated from West Coast College of Massage Therapy in August 2018. Since her graduation, Amanda has completed 70 hours of continuing education credits around the care of pregnant people and their children.
Amanda’s favourite part of being a massage therapist is instructing new parents on how to do infant massage. Her dreams for the future include more teaching, volunteering with NICU babies, and attending births as a labour support provider (doula) once her children are older.
In her free time, Amanda practices at Canada’s Best Karate. She enjoys “glamping” at Goldstream Park in her Winnebago, crocheting sweaters for her infant nephew, and caring for her MANY house plants.
